Apart from Nils, who has spent 30 years on various seas and literally talks to the wind and sails (I’ve seen him do that!) it’s us on the boat – three rookies. Agata, Piotr and myself have sailed before, but mostly on lakes, or from one island to another, nothing further or more adventurous.
Is it weird that Nils chose inexperienced sailors for an Atlantic crossing? Not really, it’s actually quite convenient, because he gets to teach us his ways and doesn’t have to struggle with crew members having conflicted opinions.
Is it weird for three rookies to choos an Atlantic crossing for their first voyage? Well, that’s a whole other story.
